Macroni

What is macroni?

Macroni is a type of pasta that is made from durum wheat and water. It is typically formed into short tubular shapes such as elbows or shells and is one of the most popular pasta in the world. Macroni is cooked by boiling it in water until it is soft and tender, and fried with different veggies like peas, capsicum, carrots, onion, tomato, coriander and many more in any cooking oil.

How to cook macroni

First, boil the macaroni and drain it. Then, wash it in running water and set it aside, if necessary massage with oil to avoid sticking each other. Remember to only boil the macaroni for 80%, the remaining 20% will be cooked further. Next, heat some oil in a pan and add onions, garlic, and green chilis. Cook until the onions are soft, then add the diced green vegetables of your choice. Saute them for 56 minutes over a high flame. Since the vegetables are diced, they won‘t take very long to cook. Add tomatoes and salt, adjusting the amount of salt to your taste. Cook until all the vegetables are soft enough to eat. Season with cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and garam masala to enhance the flavor. Lastly, add the boiled macaroni, tomato sauce, and soy sauce to the pan, mixing everything together. Cook for 12 minutes and your macaroni is ready to serve. Garnish with some finely chopped coriander leaves before serving.
