I have tried many different ways to prepare Gundruk pickle but today i am going to share my experience of cooking so that you can prepare delicious Gundruk pickle in a simple way.

Lets start with listing the ingredients to prepare Gundruk pickle.

  1. 100 gm Gundruk.
  2. 50 gm soyabeans (black).
  3. 2 piece medium sized tomatoes.
  4. 1 medium sized chopped onion.
  5. 2 tea spoon ginger garlic paste.
  6. Green chilli as per taste.
  7. Red chilli powder (as per taste) alternatively you can only use green chilli.
  8. 2 tablespoon mustard oil (use only mustard oil for better taste).
  9. Half tablespoon fenugreek seeds(methi).
  10. Pinch of turmeric powder.
  11. 2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder.
  12. Salt as per taste.
  13. Chopped green coriander leaves for garnishing.

Steps (methods)

  1. First of all heat 500 ml of water and soak Gundruk for 10 minutes. When Gundruk is well soaked, squeeze all water from Gundruk and transfer to a mixing bowl.
  2. Either roast tomatoes or boil it and then peel tomato cover.
  3. Grind tomatoes along mixing salt and chilli powder and then transfer to mixing bowl.
  4. Now add chopped onion,green chilli, ginger garlic paste, and cumin powder in a mixing bowl and mix it properly.
  5. Heat up a pan and roast black soyabeans. When soyabeans is roasted well transfer to mixing bowl.
  6. Heat a mustard oil in a pan and then add fenugreek seeds. Roast a fenugreek seeds until it becomes black. When fenugreek seeds becomes black turn off the flame and add a pinch of turmeric powder. Transfer immediately to mixing bowl.
  7. Gundruk pickle
  8. Mix all ingredients well and garnish it with chopped green coriander leaves on the top.
  9. Now its ready to serve. Enjoy with your family and friends.
