Aloo matar

- 200 grams potatoes
- 150 grams peas
- 1 tbsp Cooking oil
- 2 medium sized onion
- 2 medium sized tomato
- 2 pieces of green chili
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- .5 tsp cumin seeds
- .5 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- .5 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- As per taste red chili powder
- As per taste salt
- For garnishing chopped fresh coriander leaves
Once the cumin seeds begins to splutters add chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
Add diced potatoes and stir fry for about 5 minutes until lightly brown
Add ginger garlic paste and cook for a few minutes.
Add green peas and spices like turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala and cook for 2 minutes.
Add tomato puree and salt. Cook until water from tomato evaporated.
Add 2 cup of water and cover the pan. Simmer for 7-8 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
Uncover the pan and toss the chopped fresh coriander leaves and serve with rice or naan.
