Sukuti

Sukuti is a traditional Nepalese dish consisting of dried and spiced meat, usually goat or buffalo. The meat is cut into thin strips, marinated with turmeric and chili powder and then sun dried. It is cooked in a simple way and can be enjoyed as an appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 300 grams Dried meat (Sukuti)
  • 1 tbsp Cooking oil
  • 1 medium sized Onion
  • 1 medium sized Tomato
  • 2 pieces Green Chili
  • .5 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Garlic paste
  • As per taste Chili powder
  • As per taste Salt
  • For garnishing Coriander leaves

Instructions
 

  • First of all deep a Sukuti in lukewarm water for 30 minutes and then cut into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in a cooking pan over medium heat and add sliced onion and stir until golden brown and then add ginger-garlic paste, chili, tomato and salt.
  • Now add the small pieces of dried meat and fry until golden.
  • Season with cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric, chili powder and garam masala.
  • Add a cup of water and simmer until the meat is tender.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs such as fresh coriander leaves and spring onion.
  • Serve with rice, roti or other accompaniments. Here i will prefer with beaten rice (cheura).
